Glad you’re here and we can give you a behind-the-scenes look at our passion and why we believe good meat only comes from happy animals.

Our values:

We stand for premium organic products from regional origins, and we do so with total conviction, from the heart to the handshake. Our Bioland certification makes this clear to the eye, but above all you can taste the difference with every bite. At Josef’s Bio, we not only enjoy our food with a clear conscience, but also work respectfully with each other, regardless of position, origin or conviction. If the animal deserves to be treated with dignity, then it goes without saying that this also applies to humans. Thus, we also rely on benevolent, long-term relationships with our partners, accompanied by open exchange and respect. We owe it to the many years of professionalism of our craft and such a constant attitude that many have remained a part of this community and that, with God’s blessing, it is constantly growing.

How we proceed:

The quality of our craft is rooted above all in organic quality and our exclusively regional partners, which means in concrete terms that our animals eat no frills, but only organic and primarily from the farm’s own cultivation. Diseases are fought naturally in a homeopathic way during the rearing process and are not preventively immobilised with antibiotics. In addition, the animals live healthier lives, have more free space for themselves, access to the outdoors or are completely out on pasture at certain times of the year. Our clean craftsmanship means that we cut and pack everything fresh and vacuum-packed, so that every meal with us is a pleasure for you, accompanied by the good feeling that responsible action simply tastes better.

Where we want to go:

We want meat consumption to be associated with an understanding: Less but good. For us, good means the best that is possible, and we achieve this through regional organic products distributed by our own handicraft. However, responsible meat consumption starts with each individual and that is why we not only draw attention to our products, but also publish background information on our media channels, provide insights into our everyday life and launch campaigns. This transparency connects you and all of us as a community that contributes its small part to leaving this earth healthy and habitable in the long term. 

How it all began:

Every company acts out of a certain conviction, but Josef’s Bio has a special history and stands for so much more than just quality products. It stands for an attitude towards the environment, a saying yes to responsibility paired with the joy of life. This is what makes me me and my story, may I introduce myself? My name is Yusuf Turna and I am probably the only butcher in Germany who was once a vegetarian.

Before founding the company in 2011, I did without meat products altogether because the rearing of animals that was behind a meat meal at the time was no longer acceptable to my conscience. As a native of Baden, I love the lush green of the early summer meadows or the crashing of the birch leaves on a walk in autumn. In my opinion, animals are just as deserving of this well-being for soul and body. The conventional way of raising animals in the food industry is unfortunately very far from considering farm animals as living beings with their own needs. That’s why I set out on a quest to make a lasting change and improvement after my fasting protest. The fact that my interest in organic later became Josef’s Bio is mainly due to the fact that my conviction was or has become the conviction of many others and that we will therefore continue to enjoy organic food with a clear conscience. For that, I thank everyone on this path.
