What does organic meat mean for us?
ORGANIC MEAT FROM PASTURE IS GOOD FOR PEOPLE AND NATURE
Josef’s Bio offers high-quality organic meat from pasture-raised cattle, pasture-raised lambs and organic free-range chicken from natural and sustainable rearing and husbandry, but what does that mean in detail?
Our partner farms are not only organic, but also Bioland or Naturland certified, whose specifications are even stricter than those of the EU directives for organic products. We work with farms where the animals are allowed to live in the most natural way on pastures and where species-appropriate husbandry has the highest priority.
In addition to the husbandry, the feeding is also elementary for the selection of our animals, which we choose for our quality meat. Our animals are fed exclusively with natural and species-specific feed. The feeding of grass, hay and grass silage enables the animals to grow up slowly, naturally and healthily, without the addition of antibiotics or similar measures.
When selecting the animals, we place particular emphasis on the meat quality of the respective breeds. In the case of cattle, these are mainly German Angus, Limousin and Charolais, while our lamb comes mainly from the Suffolk breeds.
REGIONAL MEAT INSTEAD OF GLOBAL MEAT
Meat that has to be flown or shipped halfway around the world to reach your plate?
Here in Germany there is regional, good and healthy meat that is in no way inferior in quality to the internationally known types of meat. Our quality meat comes from regional organic farmers. With your purchase, you are not only doing something good for yourself and the environment, but you are also supporting regional farmers and small businesses. So together we can make the world a little bit better.
The good thing about it is that you can order the meat in our shop from the comfort of your own home.
